Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot of water until soft and tender for about 20–25 minutes, then peel and mash them in a bowl with a fork or potato masher.

Thoroughly mix the spices and salt together in a small bowl. Immediately before serving, sprinkle the spices over the mashed sweet potatoes and fold well to combine.
